TechSolve consultant Kelly Stacy is recognized for work with Kettering Health Network.
The Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI) hosted the 23rd annual national forum on quality improvement in healthcare last week in Orlando, Florida. A lean process improvement project completed by Bond Hill based TechSolve was chosen to be featured at the conference and shared with more than 6,000 health leaders from around the world as an example of outstanding work.
Dayton-area Kettering Health Network enlisted the expertise of TechSolve, and project lead Kelly Stacy, in January of 2011 to get to the root of and improve a number of factors affecting patient satisfaction at the Sycamore Medical Center Emergency Department including length of stay, patient capacity and recommendation ratings.
“I think the greatest impact of this project was the recurring theme that with all of the modern technology available often more effective but, simpler modes of communication are overlooked in improvement processes,” said Stacy, senior healthcare consultant for TechSolve.
Less than one year into the project, the team at Sycamore was able to drastically improve communication processes leading to an increase in overall patient satisfaction by 26%. The focus on improvements to communication in this project and the impressive results yielded earned Stacy national recognition from IHI and an invitation to present at the national forum.
“The efforts expertly guided by TechSolve, driven by our front-line and thoroughly supported by leaders at every level resulted in true departmental cultural transformation for our organization,” said clinical nurse manager for Sycamore Medical Center Dee Guttadore, RN.
