Project Title: Emergency Department Performance Excellence

Company Profile: Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center is a 129-bed, not-for-profit regional hospital located in Coles County, Illinois. Accredited by The Joint Commission, the facility received the 2011 Illinois Performance Excellence Gold Award for Achievement of Excellence, the highest performance honor in the state.

Project Title: Rural Health Clinic Process Improvement Engagement

Company Profile: Wayne County Hospital (WCH) is a 25-bed critical access hospital located in Monticello, Kentucky. Serving a five county region, WCH functions as the area’s primary healthcare facility for outpatient and rehabilitation services. WCH also has an on-site Rural Health Clinic that functions both as an appointment only primary care office and as walk-in clinic. The hospital is fully accredited by the Healthcare Facilities Accreditation Program (HFAP).

Project Title: Nurse Hiring Process

Company Profile: A major health system with seven hospitals and multiple ambulatory sites.

Situation: Each hospital within the health system had its own nurse hiring process. The system’s hospitals were competing with each other to obtain the best nurse candidates. In spite of the availability of HR Workflow software, hospitals were still using complex manual filing and communication protocols, which extended the time of candidate selection from interview to offer.

Project Title: Post-Hire Onboarding Process

Company Profile: A major academic hospital with 300 beds and over 2,000 employees.

Situation: The HR Department assigned one person to contact new hires and review Onboarding activities, such as orientation dates and times, dress codes, and employee health information. This process was time-consuming and repetitive, and new employees frequently arrived at New Employee Orientation without the forms and items for completion of the Onboarding process.

Project Title: Lean Six Sigma Green Belt / Yellow Belt Certification

Company Profile: Wilson Memorial Hospital is a 71-bed, full-service community hospital serving residents of Shelby County, Ohio, and surrounding communities. The hospital is accredited by the Healthcare Facility Accreditation Program (HFAP). As a community hospital, Wilson’s goal is to enable patients to receive quality healthcare close to home.

Project Title: Lean Certification Training

Company Profile: The Midwest Regional Health “System” has two acute care hospitals and more than 130 sites of care. The system provides a wide range of clinical, educational, preventive, and social programs. Its non-hospital services include physician practice management, occupational health centers, home health, and hospice care.

Project Title: Lean Process Improvement

Company Profile: McCullough-Hyde Memorial Hospital (MHMH), located in Oxford, Ohio, is a 45-bed hospital, and has five regional outpatient facilities. MHMH averages 2,600 admissions per year and serves residents from six counties across Ohio and Indiana.

Project Title: Physician Practice Uses Lean to Improve Patient Experience and New Care Requirements

Company Profile: Midmark contracted with TechSolve to initiate a Lean pilot with St. Elizabeth Physicians. St. Elizabeth Physicians was seeking a way to increase efficiency in their offices that would allow their offices to meet the requirements of the Comprehensive Primary Care Initiative (CPCi), and the Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH).

Project Title: Lean Journey in the Operating Room

Company Profile: With proximity to Cincinnati and Dayton, McCullough-Hyde Memorial Hospital (MHMH) serves nearly 80,000 patients annually.

Project Title: Meeting Growing Patient Demand

Company Profile: This is a nationally ranked pediatric hospital.

Situation: With patient volume increasing and a rising demand for faster results, hospital laboratories need to look for new ways to work “smarter.” Most often the internal teams will look for equipment and/or technology solutions – but that may be the wrong solution. Faced with both capacity and resource constraints, this hospital came to TechSolve for a Lean “quantifiable improvement” Healthcare Solution.
