September 7, 2021, CINCINNATI, OH — The premiere MFG Strong Workforce Summit for Southwest Ohio manufacturers is scheduled for Thursday, September 16, 2021 at the Duke Energy Center in downtown Cincinnati. Registration is open for the one-day event that brings together key workforce development and community leaders with manufacturers from Brown, Butler, Clermont, Clinton, Hamilton, Highland and Warren counties. Tickets are $180 for General Admission and $120 for Ohio Manufacturers, with discounts for multiple tickets; and are available online at www.mfgstrong.com. The event is organized by TechSolve, a Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP) Center dedicated to the advancement of manufacturing in Southwest Ohio.

The morning breakout sessions center on providing solutions to the critical workforce challenges manufacturers currently face: “Strengthening Recruitment and Employee Retention,” “Addressing the Future of Work & Technology Integration,” and “Access to Workforce Programing and Funding.” MFG Strong continues the conversation that occurred between regional manufactures when TechSolve recently met with Ohio Governor Mike DeWine, Lt. Gov. John Husted and directors from the Ohio Departments of Commerce and Development to discuss the funding programs offered by the state.

“We’re providing the manufacturers of our region the opportunity to discover new ways and better methods for handling workforce issues, while giving them a platform to discuss the challenges they face and the programs our state offers as assistance,” said David Linger, President and CEO of TechSolve. “The summit will not only continue the dialogue and interaction on this critical manufacturing issue, it will lead us to develop future solutions through this holistic approach.”

The summit includes a lunchtime keynote address from author and trainer Ryan Jenkins, as well as action-focused breakout sessions. Ryan Jenkins, CSP is an internationally recognized keynote speaker, trainer and author. His latest book is “The Generation Z Guide: The Complete Manual to Understand, Recruit and Lead the Next Generation.” His insights have been featured in Forbes, Fast Company and The Wall Street Journal. Ryan has helped organizations optimize their generational dynamics, decrease worker loneliness, and prepare for the future of the work.

The afternoon sessions focus on networking with community partners, county-focused breakout sessions for more localized discussions, and a panel with educational institutions on workforce programing. The summit concludes with an event summary and action items that TechSolve will relay back to the state and government organizations.
